Down the long dirt road was a waterfall, which the slaves have never seen. They had never seen so much water in one place. The slave trader stopped the wagon to fill the water jug. Julily spotted a tall white man and an also tall black man not to far from the side of the road. They also spotted the slaves. They walked over together and asked them why they were chained by the legs. The slaves explained, while pointing at the wagon driver and the slave trader, that they were taken away from their wives and children. That they were slaves that were recently sold. The white man immediately turned to the black man and asked him to fill and bring a pale of water for these perishing slaves. The slave trader had returned before the black man fetched water.

"Don't listen to this Quaker Abolitionist and that free nigger boy" said the slave trader.
