The slaves have arrived to the Riley Plantation in Vicksburgh, Mississippi. Julily thought it was a quite beautiful property at first, but that changed when she saw the slaves' fields they were working in. She was a little upset while noticing that their were hardly communication between slaves. They had really scrawny legs, and sucked-in cheeks.
An old lady came to bring the newcomers to their shacks, which were much less nice than the ones at the Henson Plantation. As one of the slaves was being brought by the old, wrinkly woman, one of them managed to escape her grip, then ran and grabbed Julily's skirt, while screaming "Julily!". The fat white man ordered the old grannie to shut that little baby's mouth.
Julily walked towards another cabin after being told to go with the slaves who don't have families. She didn't look for Mammy Sally, because she would hate to see her on this plantation. There were several other slaves, mostly girls.
"Hi, I'm Lisa" said a soft-voiced girl a little younger than Julily. She sat beside her.
